Hello everyone. A school bus driver in the state of Illinois tested positive for methadone. She had been taking it for pain related to sickle sell disease. I spoke with her physician who verified this but stated that he would not be willing to write a note stating that she was able to drive a school bus due to his perceived risk. He feels that the patient is compliant with the medications intended use and does not feel her to be a risk. I am not sure what this state's school bus rules on methadone use are. Any guidance would be appreciated.
