I've started asking donors to take photos of their prescription labels and send the photos to my cell phone. I then forward the photos to my email address and save/print them. (I realize I could ask the donors to send the photos directly to my email address, but I think it's easier for them to instead send to a phone number.) This approach has so far sped up my reviews considerably. In the past, there would be a series of phone calls to the pharmacy or doctor's office, and/or faxes going back and forth to corroborate.
The images on the photos are not great, but are almost always adequate to corroborate the donor's name and medication name and date.
I've never heard of anyone else doing this. So I'm asking: Does anyone see any problems with this approach?
