I am still waiting on the data from the specific lab we are using to perform the test. My example of sensitivity/specificity data comes from a competitor's (Warde Medical Laboratory) information sheet.
"At Warde Medical Laboratory, we are able to detect EtG down to 50 ng/ml and our evaluation of cutoffs at two different levels by LC-MS gave the following results:
- at 250 ng/ml sensitivity 95, specificity 80
- at 500 ng/ml sensitivity 95, specificity 98.”
I am employed by a company that bid on the services which will be paid for by a county grant. I had no say in the testing protocol and worry about reviewing the results (if the numbers turn out to be what they appear to be). Though I have strong reservations about the policy, I like to be employed. Just wondering how other MROs would handle the scenario.
