Has anyone heard of Effexor causing a false positive for THC? A very good friend of mine was recently drug tested (twice) for a new job and instead of the 15 max, she tested at an 89. She takes 225mgs a day and while a small amount of xanax showed up (she has prescriptions for both of these) the effexor did not. In trying to help her, in research on the net I see searches that say that it will cause a false positive yet the info doesn't seem to be there. I contacted Wyeth and they said the prescribing info is what is given to the FDA and the only info that can be given to the general public. Pharmacies, Labs, Doctors don't seem to know the answer to this, yet this person will lose her job and she cant document it. Not to mention if this in fact the case, then random testing is going to get her every time. Anyone come across this one before? Really trying to help her out..any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
