This is a situation where the MRO has asked Lab A to send Bottle B to Lab B and Lab B finds Bottle B's condition unacceptable because of the illegible label. When a split specimen fails to reconfirm in this "specimen not available for testing" situation, the MRO reports to the designated employer representative (DER) that the test result must be cancelled and directs the DER to ensure the immediate collection of another specimen from the donor under direct observation, with no notice given to the employee of this collection requirement until just before the collection. With regard to how long is reasonable before the recollection, that's ultimately the employer's call but I would suggest same- or next-day would be best, since one of the objectives it to try and obtain a specimen that might be lab-positive from the same use that caused the initial lab-positive result.
