I tend to agree with Robert. Besides, they test for metabolites so unless there is contaminated urine already in the urinal, I don't see how it can affect the testing. It may, however, lower the temp of the specimen beyond acceptable range. It is best to avoid these kind of situations but sometimes we ran out of options. Maybe allowing the patient to pick out which urinal they wants to use from a stack, much like what collectors do with specimen containers, can make it more defensible. Good luck.
