Propoxyphene is a synthetic opioid. It is not included in the federal 5-drug panel but is sometimes included by programs that test for drugs beyond the federal 5-panel.  The question asks if propoxyphene is included in the 9-panel.  My answer to this is, there is no standard set of drugs for a 9-panel.  Instead, laboratories will group various sets of drugs into predefined panels (5-, 7-, 9-, 10-, etc) of drugs to meet client demands and perceived client demands.  In my own experience, propoxyphene is not part of most 9-panels, but I'm sure there are some 9-panels that do include it.  Also realize that the "opiates" that drug testing labs routinely test for are codeine, morphine, and 6-acetylmorphine, but not propoxyphene.
