I received a positive drug screen result for methadone and propoxyphene on an individual. She apparently had been prescribed the methadone from a pain clinic in December 2004. The individual didn't disclose that she had been on the medication on her intake form for hospital employment. I checked with the pharmacy and she's had no refills of methadone at that site since 12/04. Is there a cut-off for prescribed medications and when they should be finished? Additionally, she failed to disclose the Darvocet (propoxyphene) until after the positive test, but again, she produced a prescription from 5/29/05. My gut feeling is that this is a positive drug test, but I wanted to bounce it off someone first. Thanks for your help!
