My reading of the literature on drug testing leaves me with the impression that THC-metabolites are secured within the hair follicle and do not migrate from the root upward. However, there is some liturature out there (possibly older) that indicates that as areas of the hair become older, they lose their ability to support/sustain the metabolites. The question is - Assuming that a user of marijuana stopped smoking ninety days prior to any hair testing, is there any evidence to support the theory that a positive test is less likely since the "positive" hair portion is older and less capable of metabolite support? Any anecdotal evidence to support this? Any thoughts are appreciated.
