the previous responses pertain to MRO reviewed specimens which are confrimed by GC-MS.  The quick, onsite enzyme-based screening tests you appear to be referring to do have different characteristics, and an opiate-positive with such a test could well be due to a natural (e.g. codeine) or synthetic (e.g. hydrocodone) opiate OR even dextromethorphan, a non-narcotic, over-the-counter cough suppressant.  In a parole-type system where GC-MS confirmation may not be done, I would suggest checking the package insert of the actual kit used and warning the donor(s) that any and all of the substances listed as causing a positive or false positive are forbidden . . .
