Shifting back to the original question and understanding Dr Swotinsky has addressed this:  If a donor who is due for a random test provides a current and verifiable note from a nephrologist proving the individual is in renal failure, why would that person need to go sit at a collection site for 3 hours??  You waste everyone's time, run the risk of an over zealous collector insisting the individual drink fluids (placing the donor at some peril due to the renal failure), and waste money for the company who has to pay for the collection attempt.  Has anyone actually made a donor with known renal failure on dialysis do this?  What has been the response?  I think I'll also ask ODAPC to address this issue.
