I work for a drug rehabilitation center. We also conduct urinalyses for some local drug courts. Yesterday I had a client come in for testing who had a script for hydrocodone. She tested positive for opiates as expected. However, we are also running an Oxycontin test. In my opinion she tested positive for oxycontin too, but my co-worker saw a very, very faint line. I marked it negative based on my co-worker's observation but still had my doubts. Can hydrocodone cause a positive result on an Oxycontin test? Please explain in the most simplest terms as I am not a medical tech nor a former addict.
