First I would be suspect of the urologist letter. You might contact him/her to clarify exactly what it means. It may have been a "courtesy" note as opposed to a genuine documented medical condition. Second, concurrently and without further delay I would still have them sit (and preferably drink) in the collection center for the three hour protocol. They may well still produce a specimen (a little less than "on demand"). Third, blood testing is possible but more difficult, expensive, and invasive. So, saliva testing is a preferable option, but hair is not necessarily out. Very few donors and even fewer lawyers are willing to litigate employment drug screens (little $ as opposed to current employee or post accident drug screens). Curiously, doctors make live and death decisions daily on other lab results without "evidentiary" standards.
