The first question I would ask, which you did not mention in your question, and is very important to any response, is why, or for what reason(s) the lab gave you for the invalid result? Griseofulvin has been identified to cause interference on initial absorbance readings on EMIT immunoassay screening. So if the reason for the invalid was "immunoassay interference", this might be the reason. Also if you call and talk to the Lab Director, sometimes the lab can use a different immunoassay screen other than EMIT.
