As I have stated before, most of my screens are non-mandated, instant on-site which I do for the court system and law enforcement. I am beginning to get a large number of people who undergo direct observation collections where the temperature is normal but the urine is clear as water and they test negative. My question is this: Which is my best course of action?
#1: re-do the collection and screen, or
#2: go ahead and send the specimen for confirmation where it will be checked for ph, specific gravity and creatinine and reserve a pass or fail decision until the results are back?
