I am reviewing a non-DOT urine drug screen that was collected via catheter on an emergency room patient that was being admitted with a worker's compensation injury. In my MRO course book, I see that there are "special provisions for collecting from Foley catheter for post-accident test when the employee is hospitalized," but I cannot find that in the regulations. I am also concerned that there was a language barrier for this Spanish speaking donor. The ER dictation mentions use of the language line, but how would you establish that the donor actually understood the COC he signed?
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance. This forum is a tremendous resource for those of us new MROs out on our own.
