How useful would urine drug testing be for Ambien (zolpidem) to monitor for substance abuse relapse? Lab indicates half life of 4.5 hrs and comments that "less than 1% excreted, unchanged in urine over a 24 hour period. Therefore the analysis of urine for zolpidem is not recommended for therapeutic drug monitoring, compliance, or other related purposes" Screen result is 2000 ng/ml; reporting limit 5.0.
