Dr. Steve K, you are getting confused. You can report it out either of two ways:
(1) Report out only the non-negative to the client. i.e. Positive for Marijuana, and do not report out the negative, temperature out of range, or
(2) Report both tests. Here is an example:
(a) Specimen #1 of 2, Negative, Temperature Out Of Range, Second Collection Required, Please See Specimen #2, Specimen ID# 9876543,
(b) Specimen #2 of 2, Positive Marijuana, also see Specimen #2, Specimen ID# 1234567.
Method (2) is often confusing for the DER, which is why many of us just report out the non-negative.
