Regarding the 3 hour wait for anuria: Technically yes for random tests, but probably no for employment and return to duty tests as per the prior referenced thread. On a practical basis, the donor has time to establish proof of the condition prior to a specimen being due on a pre-employment and return to duty test, but is in a precarious position on delivering proof at random test because of its short time window. Remember, a refusal (no show) is worse than a later confirmed "shy bladder." Therefore it is safest to do the usual waiting period and clarify the shy bladder afterwards. The real bottom line however is that the MRO is the one who must be satisfied and able to defend his result SO it is conceivable that a donor whose condition is well known to the MRO could contact the MRO about the random (it advance or time of selection) and the MRO "clear it" in advance to avoid the wait. (Note that this assumes MRO clearing is must be same MRO as the proposed specimen).
1) The medical evaluation for permanent "shy bladder" need only be done as often as needed to assure / satisfy the MRO that it is truly still present when a specimen is due.
2) The substitute clinical evaluation for drug use MUST be done on ALL employment and return to duty, but not for a random, which simply gets canceled - perhaps viewed as a 3 hour wait for a free pass?
