Donor positive for butalbital (obviously non regulated) and only Rx was Darvocet for back pain several weeks ago and recent Cephad?n for a "sinus infection." Cephadin is Cephadrine 500mg antibiotic and Cepahdyn is acetominophen 650mg and butalbital 50mg. The "i" and "y" sound alike and, except for dose, easily confused. This patient may have even received the incorrect medication. It surprised me.
I would be curious to see others post similar potential errors in this thread for a mutual learning experience.
