My company utilizes the standard Department of Transportation urine drug testing protocol for screening applicants. My clinical staff believes that this five-drug protocol is inadequate to detect the drugs that are more likely to be abused within the community, and has asked me to evaluate the evidence in support of expanded drug testing. Can you direct me to a reliable source of information that would either support or reject the need to screen for more than just the standard five-drug DOT protocol? Thank you.
