A recent report on a survey of 40 laboratories providing analytical support to the Drug Evaluation and Classification Program found little consensus on applicable screen and confirmation levels for drugs commonly identified in impaired drivers.  The report identifies those drugs commonly identified in blood and urine specimens and recommends screen and cutoff levels.  The report is available for download (at a price if you don't have a subscription) at the citation below.  There was a small typo in the main table, and an erratum was published to correct the error.  A link to that replacement table is found at the Blackwell download site and you can click on it and print the replacement table at no cost.

Any testing done by a DOT-regulated employer for substances other than the NIDA-5 or in circumstances not mandated by the modal regulation would be conducted under the clearly stated independent authority of the employer.
