I test drivers 4 times a year, i.e., quarterly. I understand that I test 50% of the drivers for drugs and 10% for alcohol. Being that I have a high fluctuation, I base my driving positions on the number of drivers eligible to be tested at the time of each selection. For example: 128 drivers X 50% leaves me with 64 drivers to test. Divide that by 4 (as we test each quarter) gives me 16 drivers to be tested for the quarter. Correct? For alcohol, the same 128 x 10% leaves me with 3.20. 3 drivers. Correct?
What happens when the size of my driver pool changes? How do I determine how many tests must be conducted to get my 50% & 10% at the end of the year? Is there a simple formula that I could use?
