See the "Cardiovascular Advisory Panel Guidelines" for the most current relevant guidance from FMCSA. These Guidelines say DVT is not disqualifying if the driver has been regulated on Coumadin for at least a month and is getting INR monitored at least monthly. Ask the driver to have his/her PCP fax you (1) the most recent INR (the ratio of the patient's PT value to the lab's normal PT value), and (2) a statement that the pt is getting INR monitored at least monthly. If the INR is around 2.5-3 and the PCP says the driver will be monitored monthly, qualify the guy for the usual 2 yrs.
