Donor now deceased

Post by MROinCO » Wed Jul 29, 2020 5:00 pm

I have a non regulated test which was collected for cause.

Just as the result was coming in to me for review, the employer called me and said that they have been made aware that this donor was now deceased.
The employer was not officially notified, but heard about this second hand.

I have called and left a first message for the donor to contact me about the test result.

The test result is positive for THC, and this employer treats all THC results as positive.

What is a reasonable number of attempts to reach the donor? What if a spouse calls back?

I would report it as positive. If the donor resurfaces and contacts you, reopen the MRO review. But, based on what you've posted, I wouldn't bother the wife/family about the test.
