Controlled OSA on CPAP, Issue card for 1 yr v 2 yrs?

Hi Colleagues,

I wonder if you go by the withdrawn recommendations when issuing DOT certificates for only one year if dx and successfully rx for OSA. Is giving 2-yr cartificates "doing something" or "less than something"? I feel that it is already enough of a "something" if they went as far as getting dx and rx with adequate initial rx compliance. What do you think?

When I do DOT physicals as part of a large occ hlth practice, the usual procedure is to give a 1-yr cert based on history of OSA controlled by CPAP. Perhaps this is based on the aforementioned
withdrawn recommendations
